I’m James, or better know as the Boot Wizard. I’m a creative who lives and works in the industry of photography, videography, product & content creation. Boot Wizard is my way of taking those creative passions and combining them with my obsession, to help the footballing community

What Is This Supposed To Be? – New Balance 442 Elite Review

The New Balance Furon V8 Elite Review is here, and, the question is, is it better than the Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Elite?! They both follow a very similar template of a knit speed boot with very aggressive traction. The New Balance Furon is a good amount cheaper than the Mercurial too, so should you pick it up instead.

So, The Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Academy might be the best $80 football boot you can get from Nike, but with that said it isn’t the most exciting boot on the market right now.

Best Nike Boot Under $100? – Mercurial Vapor 16 Academy Review

Nike have unveiled the United Pack, the new women’s colourway endorsed by some of the biggest names and I’ve got the Phantom GX2 Elite as worn by Sophia Smith in hand.

Unfortunately we can’t talk about these boots without talking about the fact they absolutely reek of hypocrisy on the part of Nike. Nike say you can’t win, so win. A message sent on the biggest stage saying it doesn’t matter what you do people will tear you down for being a woman, so go out there and do it anyway, go out there and win. However, Nike themselves don’t seem interested in helping women win, they just want them to sell shoes to help Nike make more money.

I just dropped my YT video on how I did a magazine style photoshoot with the @lanzeramondiale Professionale.

Here are the results! If you haven`t checked out the video yet head over to the Boot Wizard YT.

A little background on the photos. I wanted to create something that tried to tell the Lanzera Professionale story. I wanted something that showed premium quality, heritage and tradition, as well as giving a showcase to the modern.

The Lanzera is made in Italy so I went with those classic Italian colosseum vibes, sandstone pillars and sand on the ground, the battle ground for gladiators, as the battle ground for the Professionale is the football pitch. I wanted it to have a premium feel so the tones and colours I used were designed to be dramatic, the feeling of a sunset with the boots as the standout against dramatic skies, dramatic shadows and dramatic events you can create in the boots. As for the modern, well, I left that up to the boots as a contrast, rather than trying to push in something that would stand out as a modern element or material and take your eye away from the boots. The boots are the modern tools of the modern gladiator set against a backdrop designed to invoke the thoughts of histories gladiators.

Importantly I also wanted to give this the look and feel of an old style magazine boot ad or photo editorial. Probably the part of the shoot that I think came out the best. Feels like it could be in an old football magazine. The modern with the heritage.
